40 Steam games for four people on one PC and one screen, playing on the same team. Each one has Steam's Shared/Split Screen Co-op category and a 4 Player Local tag from players. Those two signals alone also pull in party and versus games, so we cut anything whose top tags say party, trivia, sports or fighting, plus anything PvP-first. Jackbox, Move or Die and platform fighters are out for that reason: great on a couch, but you play against each other. What's left is ranked like our main co-op list: by the share of positive Steam reviews, weighted by how many reviews there are, so a small game needs a few thousand reviews before its score counts in full. At least 500 reviews at Mostly Positive or better. If you're two players rather than four, the split-screen list is much bigger.
Four local players is what they have in common: each carries the 4 Player Local tag and a local co-op category. Some allow more. A few have a two-player campaign with extra modes for four, so the store page is worth a look for the specifics.
They're couch games, but you compete instead of working together. This list is for four people on the same team, so we drop games whose top Steam tags are party, trivia, sports or fighting.
Many of these also have online co-op. For the ones that don't, Steam Remote Play Together streams your local session to friends' PCs, and only the host needs to own the game.
Plan on one controller per player. Some games let one person use the keyboard, and most take Xbox and PlayStation pads through Steam Input; the store page lists controller support.
