About this list

124 co-op games on Steam that list Cross-Platform Multiplayer. One caveat first: Steam's category only says the game has crossplay with some other platform. That can be PlayStation or Xbox, the Xbox app on PC, Epic, mobile, or just Windows with Mac and Linux, and Steam doesn't record which one. If you want to play with a friend on PS5, check the store page or the developer's crossplay FAQ for that exact pairing. What we do check is that co-op is a real part of the game, not a footnote: a pick needs a co-op category and a co-op tag among its top player-voted tags, and anything PvP-first is removed. That takes out Rust, Rocket League and the recent Call of Duty games, which list co-op too. The list is ranked like our main co-op list: by the share of positive Steam reviews, weighted by how many reviews there are, so a small game needs a few thousand reviews before its score counts in full. At least 500 reviews at Mostly Positive or better.

Frequently asked

Can I play these with a friend on PS5 or Xbox?

Some of them, yes, but Steam's Cross-Platform Multiplayer category doesn't say which platforms are covered. For older games it often means Windows, Mac and Linux only. Check the game's store page or the developer's crossplay FAQ for the platform your friend is on.

Why aren't Rust or Rocket League here?

Both have crossplay and a co-op category, but you mostly play against other people. We remove games where PvP is part of the identity: a PvP or competitive tag in the top ten, or a PvP category on a game with no single-player mode, an MMO, or one that sells in-game items.

Does my friend need their own copy?

Usually, yes, each player needs the game on their own platform. A few games ship a free friend's pass (Split Fiction does); the store page mentions it when that's the case.

How often is the list updated?

Once a day. Steam categories change when developers add crossplay in a patch, so games can join the list well after release.
